The Kanso Collective is delighted to release Air & Gold, ten of Linda Edwards’ paintings in watercolour and 24 carat gold leaf as limited edition silk scarves.
Each design is made in a limited edition, only for the orders placed in this pre-sale. Never mass produced.
Each is a 90 × 90 cm square of 18 momme silk twill, printed on both sides, with hand-rolled edges. $300 a scarf, or $240 with the early bird code until 24 November.
The pre-sale runs from 4 November to 10 December. Every scarf is made to order and dispatched, tracked, between 29 and 31 January 2027.

Linda chose these ten paintings herself for Air & Gold, a limited edition made as a companion to The Vibrant Air, Linda’s solo show at J/M Gallery in London from 26 November to 1 December 2026.
Linda paints trees, birds and animals on grounds of 24 carat gold leaf, in the spirit of medieval, Indo-Persian and early Renaissance art. A painting often begins with a poem or a page of a sketchbook and grows slowly, pattern by pattern, until the gold goes on.
Speaking of the gold, Linda says, “I love the way the gold catches the light. There is a contrast between the matte paint and the glow of the gold. The moment the gold is finished, the whole painting comes to life.”
On silk the gold is printed as a warm ochre-gold colour, so it doesn’t shine like metal leaf. Every other colour is printed as Linda painted it.
Born in Africa and raised in the North East of England, Linda studied at Cambridge and is self-taught as an artist. For more than 25 years Linda illustrated children’s books, myths and folktales from around the world, then ran a design business making products from those illustrations.
For the past nine years Linda has painted original works in watercolour and gold leaf in a studio in Shrewsbury. Linda Edwards’ paintings are shown in London, New Delhi and Mumbai, and are held by private collectors in the UK and abroad and by the Government of Fujairah.
“The power of nature affects us all. My paintings celebrate nature and a sense of place. Trees are potent beings and often form the heart of a painting. Amongst the trees I place animals and birds.”

No. Linda paints with real 24 carat gold leaf, which can’t be printed on silk. On the scarves the gold is printed as a warm ochre-gold colour, with the soft sheen of silk twill but not the shine of metal leaf.
18 momme silk twill, 90 × 90 cm (about 35 inches). Each square is printed on both sides, so the design shows however you tie it, and its edges are rolled by hand.
