About this design

A goldfinch sits in a ring of rowan branches heavy with red berries, under a soft pink and blue sky.

Every design starts as one of Linda Edwards’ own paintings, in watercolour and 24 carat gold leaf on paper. Each scarf is printed on both sides and its edges rolled by hand.

Who is Linda Edwards?

A painter in Shrewsbury, England, who works in watercolour and 24 carat gold leaf. Born in Africa and raised in the North East of England, Linda illustrated children’s books for more than 25 years before turning to painting. Linda’s work has been shown at the Royal Watercolour Society, the Mall Galleries, J/M Gallery in London and with Ojas Art in New Delhi.

Are these limited editions?

Yes. Air & Gold is a limited edition: each design is made in a limited number, only for the orders placed in this pre-sale, in collaboration with Linda Edwards, and finished by hand. Never mass produced.

How does the pre-sale work?

You pre-order and pay between 4 November and 10 December 2026. Until 24 November, 9am UK time, the early bird code from our list takes 20% off. Every scarf is dispatched to you, tracked, between 29 and 31 January 2027.

How do I get the early bird code?

Join the list on this page. Your code shows straight away and we email it to you. It works on one order of Air & Gold scarves until 24 November, 9am UK time. Our other codes don’t work on Air & Gold.

When will my scarf arrive?

We dispatch every scarf between 29 and 31 January 2027, by tracked shipping, and it reaches you 7 to 10 days later, by 10 February 2027. It won’t arrive before Christmas.

How much is a Linda Edwards silk scarf?

$300 in the US, £229 in the UK and €275 in Europe, plus tracked shipping. With the early bird code, until 24 November: $240, £183.20 or €220.

Will the gold shine like the paintings?

No. Linda paints with real 24 carat gold leaf, which can’t be printed on silk. On the scarves the gold is printed as a warm ochre-gold colour, with the soft sheen of silk twill but not the shine of metal leaf.

What are the scarves made of?

18 momme silk twill, 90 × 90 cm (about 35 inches). Each square is printed on both sides, so the design shows however you tie it, and its edges are rolled by hand.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery if it’s unworn and in its original packaging. You pay the return postage, and we refund the price of the piece once it arrives. Returns in full.

How do I look after it?

Dry clean only. Store it folded or rolled, away from sunlight.
